Aesthetic Trends & Technologies was looking to redevelop their website to match the aesthetic level of their magazine. As a leader in the aesthetic industry, it is vital that all aspects of their marketing meet a very high standard of appearance. A standard that is equivalent to their outstanding magazine. We looked at the magazine for our inspiration as it has already showed it was very successful. We took two main elements from the magazine as the core to how we would develop the website. First, we wanted to duplicate the look and feel of the magazine in an online format so we created a site that used a similar bordering effect around each of the content elements on the site. Second, we wanted to duplicate how the magazine colors change each month to fit with the cover photo. On the homepage, we made created a showcase spot for the cover image of the magazine. From each cover image, we would take the primary light, medium, and dark colors and change the site colors to match. How did we achieve this? We created a styles that could easily be updated across the site. Essentially, we could update hundreds of pages by changing 3 files.
